Summary

Realisation of the UK’s new data strategy essentially begins with establishing the foundations of data governance. Setting the conditions for success in data governance across people, processes and technology will drive strategy implementation and activities to achieve the full value of data for government ministries, citizen services, and other public institutions.

Executing the government’s data strategy is a significant undertaking. Data policy, including access, roles, responsibilities, workflows, compliance and protection as well as a common lexicon for data sharing across departments, is a herculean task demanding automation for consistency, effectiveness and efficiencies. Speaker:

Michael R. Anderson serves as the Chief Strategist, Public Sector at Informatica, LLC.

In this role he leads strategic activities supporting the U.S. public sector – across federal, state, local government, higher education and national defense – and focuses on helping organizations successfully build a data-driven culture with leading edge technology capabilities.

He previously worked as the Informatica Chief Federal Strategist, as the Director, Federal Strategy and Plans for RSA, a Dell Company, and held the position of Manager, Strategic Programs for the Federal Division of Dell-EMC. Mike also served on active duty in the U.S. Army for 25 years, retiring as a Colonel. His military career culminated with duty at U.S. Army Cyber Command as the Chief of Plans, Policy, Strategy (G5).

Mike holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from The American University.
